Lean Cuisines
March 17, 2009
Okay so I went to the doctor a while back and she said that I’m PRE-diabetic and that my cholesterol was high. So she told me to change my diet and start exercising 30-45 minutes every day.
Well I did pretty good at first and then KFJ (the freakin awesomest person ever) started encouraging me to run, so that’s been good.
And I started eating Lean Cuisines becuase some of them actually taste good and they are healthy for you. Well I discovered something, Lean Cuisines do not fill you up at all. So unless you have mass quantities of healthy snacks around you to eat inbetween Lean Cuisine meals, you will fall off the wagon.
I dont’ know what it is but for some reason, Lean cuisines just make me want a huge bacon cheeseburger from Gatordockside with french fries and good ranch. (sigh) yummy goodness. : (
Which one had you rather have? lean cuisine? cheeseburger?
Are any of you dieting? What works for you? What doesn’t work for you?

Lately, I’ve been liking the Healthy Choice meals that include a dessert. They’re pretty tasty and more filling!!
Some tips:)
try adding a slice of whole wheat bread and/or an unsweetened appleasauce cup to your lean cuisines… it’ll help fill you up.
eat oatmeal for breakfast
it stays with you a long time. I LOVE the Quaker Simple Harvest apples and cinnamon…it’s all natural and very yummy!!
eat something every couple hours…keep bags of healthy snacks like pretzels, nuts, raisins, etc nearby:)
remember to drink at least 6 glasses of h2o a day!!! It also keeps your tummy full and is so good for you:)
you’re doing great! Keep up the good work!

I tried to e-mail you but I don’t know if it went through, so I’m writing it again.
I used to eat Healthy Choice meals but I couldn’t find very many that I liked and most of the desserts tasted weird.
I like the idea of adding a slice of bread, that’s smart.
I love oatmeal especially Quaker “banana bread” flavor. In fact I found a box of just banana bread the other day at walmart, so I’ve been eating that, but it’s hard to eat that in the morning, b/c I don’t have time.
I’ve been eating frosted mini wheats and those fill me up pretty well.
I love fruit, but it’s hard for me to have fruit for a snack, becuase when I eat fruit (mostly apples) on an empty stomach, it makes me sick, I don’t know if it’s all the natural sugar or the fiber. But I bought some bananas and some pears the other day so hopefully that will help.
Pretzels are okay, they just don’t have a lot of flavor, I’m tempted to dip them in sauces, but I did find that mustard is good on pretzels and doesn’t add a lot of calories.
I do need to drink more water. I was doing that for a while and it did help, but when I got sick I started drinking gatorade and sprite to give my body energy so I stopped drinking the water.
Thanks so much for all of the tips! You are such an inspiration and encouragement to me everyday! God really blesses me through you!
We need to get together soon to hang out. I don’t know when, b/c things are little busy right now. Maybe one day after church (after my FPU (financial peace university) meeting)
Thanks for being you!
love ya
